Molar mass of hydrocarbon can be determtextnd with the help of ideal gas equation:

PV=nRT

PV= w M RT

1× 22.4 1000 L= 0.078 M ×0.082×273k

m=78g

Molecularformula=n× Emperialformula

n= molecularformula empirialmass

Empirialmass=CH

So, Empirical mass =12H=13

n= 78 13 =6

Molecularformula= CH 6 = C 6 H 6
