Ag2CO32.76ΔAg2O+CO2Δ2Ag+12O2residue

Note: Ag2O is thermally unstable and decompose on heating liberating oxygen.

Molecular weight of Ag2CO3=108×2+12+16×3=276g

So 276 g of Ag2CO3 on heating gives residue

=2×108=216g of Ag

So 2.76 of Ag2CO3 on heating gives =216276×2.76

=2.16g of Ag
