The correct answer is: 20 m/s



The ball traverses distance upwards and then downwards.

Hence, time taken is going from A to B is t 2 = 4 2 = 2 s

Also at the maximum height B , speed is zero, therefore

v=u-g tmax


where v=0, tmax=2s, g = 10 m/s 2

 u=g tmax = 10×2=20m/s
