The correct answer is: 3.89 min
In the first case, the average temperature of the liquid

=70+402=55 °C
Excess temperature =55-20=35 °C

dθ1dt=40-705=-6 °C minutes-1

-6=K×35 ...1

In the second case, the average temperature of liquid,  =60+402=50oC .
Excess temperature =50-20=30 °C.
Rate of fall in temperaturedθ2dt
dθ2dt=-60-40tmin
-20tmin=K×30 ...2
Divide 1 by 2
-6-20tmin=K×35K×3076=3×tmin10tmin=3.89 min
