The correct answer is: 24 chromosomes, 24 chromatids
In the metaphase of mitosis, the condensation of chromosomes have already taken place and they move to spindle equator to get themselves aligned along with the metaphase plate. In the anaphase, daughter chromosomes are formed, the centromeres of each chromosome splits and chromatids separate, therefore at the beginning of telophase there are 24 chromosomes and 24 chromatids at each pole.
