The correct answer is: 8 :25
If l is the intensity of the incident unpolarized light, the intensity transmitted by the first is l2. This is the intensity of incident light on the second polaroid. Intensity transmitted by the second polaroid is l2cos2θ, where θ is the angle between the axes. Here sinθ=35cosθ is therefore 45.

l2cos2θ=l2×452=825l

825 is the required ratio
