In the above case the volume and specific resistivity of the wire does not change, it means,

Now recall the formula of resistance in terms of specific resistivity, 
R=ρ×lπr2
R1R2=l1πr12l2πr12=l1l22

l1l22=R1R22l1l2l1l2×100=R1R2R1R2×100=4%l1l2l1l2×100=2%
