Fungi/Mycota are special groups of organisms that are single-celled or complex multicellular organisms with the cell wall basically composed of chitin, α- and β-linked glucans, glycoproteins and pigments. Most fungi are heterotrophic and absorb soluble organic matter from dead substrates; hence, they are called saprophytes.
