The correct answer is:
$1000 \mathrm{~J}$
Net work done by the gas $=$ Area enclosed in $p-V$ curve, i.e. area of $\triangle A B C$.
$W_{\text {net }}=\frac{1}{2} \times 5 \times 10^{-3} \times 4 \times 10^5 \mathrm{~J}=10^3 \mathrm{~J}=1000 \mathrm{~J}$
$W_{\text {net }}=\frac{1}{2} \times 5 \times 10^{-3} \times 4 \times 10^5 \mathrm{~J}=10^3 \mathrm{~J}=1000 \mathrm{~J}$
