Let $\mathrm{x}$ be the real depth from first surface
$$
10=\frac{\mathrm{x}}{\mu}
$$
When viewed from opposite face
$$
6=\frac{24-x}{\mu}
$$
By solving, $\mu=1.5$
$$
10=\frac{\mathrm{x}}{\mu}
$$
When viewed from opposite face
$$
6=\frac{24-x}{\mu}
$$
By solving, $\mu=1.5$
