For monoclonal antibody production, Kohler and Milstein developed hybridoma technology in which a myeloma tumour cell was fused with an antibody producing B- Lymphocyte. The hybrid cell thus produced was named as hybridoma cell. It inherited the antibody-producing nature from lymphocytes and the dividing capability from the tumour cell.
