Let escape velocity be ve, then kinetic energy is

and escape energy=+GMemRe     ii

Equating Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get

                         ve=2GMeRe

                          R=2GMeve2

Given,

                  G=6.67×10-11N m2 kg-2

                    R=2×6.67×10-11×6×1024(3×108)2

                    R=8.89×10-3

                    R9×10-m=mm
