Resolving power of microscope in air is (R.P)air =2μairsinθ1.22λ=2sinθ1.22λ

(R.P)oil =2μoilsinθ1.22λoil =2sinθ21.22λ

R.Poil=R.Pair×2

Thus, resolving power in oil is twice the resolving power in air.
