Let us assume the mass of the neutron is mn=m and mass of the nucleus is mA=Am

Also, let us assume that the initial and the final velocities of the neutron are vi and vf respectively. 

Using the formula of final velocity for a perfectly elastic collision we get,

vf=m-Am(m+Am)vi=1-A1+Avi

   vfvi=1-A1+A

KfinalKinitial=1-A1+A2
