Streptokinase is an enzyme that is part of the medication group called fibrinolytics. This enzyme helps in activating human plasminogen and reduce plasmin. It is generally used as a thrombolysis medication in some cases of myocardial infarction. It is very effective and inexpensive. This enzyme is secreted by several species of Streptococci.
