Restoring force $=A \times \int g=k x$

\Rightarrow & K=A \rho g \\
\Rightarrow & T=2 \pi \sqrt{\frac{m}{A \rho g}}
\end{array}$
This shows that $T \propto \frac{1}{\sqrt{A}}$.
