The correct answer is: 0.96×10-4 T

Given, the magnetic moment of the bar magnet M=0.48 J T-1

Distance from the centre of the magnet d=10 cm=0.1 m

When the point lies on the axial line. The magnetic field at point P

                  B = μ 0 4 π · 2 M d 3

                     = 1 0 - 7 × 2 × 0 . 4 8 0 . 1 3 = 0 . 9 6 × 1 0 - 4  T

The direction of the magnetic field is along the direction of the magnetic moment. We know that the direction of magnetic moment is from S to N pole. Thus, the direction of the magnetic field is from S to N pole of the magnet.
