Citric acid cycle or Kreb's cycle occurs in the mitochondrial matrix and comprises eight cyclic steps. During its single turn, it produces CO₂, one of the end products of respiration, one molecule of GTP, three NADH₂ and one FADH₂ as a reduced coenzyme are formed.
