The apparent frequency of sound as heard by the observer when source is moving away from him with the same speed is (Speed of sound at room temperature is 350 s-1)

The correct answer is: 375 Hz
Speed of sound, v=350 s-1

Velocity of sound, v=50 s-1

From Doppler's principle,

1st case, f=vv-vsf ......(i)

500=350350-50f

Where, f= frequency of the source

2nd case, f''=vv+vsf

f''=350350+50f ....(ii)

From equation (i) and (ii) we get

f''500=350/400350/300=34

 f''=500×34=375 Hz
