Let the speed of fluid at outlet is v .

Applying Bernoulli's theorem,

p1+ρgh+12ρv2=constant 

p0+ρgh+0=p0+0+12ρv2

v=2gh ...(i)

At outlet,



vsinθ vertical velocity of the fluid at outlet,

v2=u2+2gh1

For maximum height,

0=vsinθ2-2gh1

h1=v2sin2θ2g

=2ghsin2θ2g [from Equation (i)]

=hsin2θ

h1=hsin2θ
