Triploids develop due to combination of diploid gamete with a haploid gamete. Such zygote will have three sets of chromosomes. Such progenies are found to be infertile as they have uneven number of chromosomes sets which will not pair correctly during the meiosis process. They wont be able to produce seed as well.
