The correct answer is: 8.0
At the end of 2sec, w=w0+αt

w=0+22=4 rad/sec

Particle acceleration towards the center is =ac=rw2

ac=1242=8  m/s 2

Tangential acceleration a t =αR

=1 m/s 2

a net = a c 2 + a t 2

= 8 2 + 1 2

= 65 8 (approximately)
