The correct answer is: 6g L sin θ 2

When the rod rotates through angle θ, the fall h of centre of gravity is given by θ

L2-hL2=cosθ

or  h=L2(1-cosθ)

Decrease in potential energy

=Mgh=MgL2(1-cosθ)

Now, KE of rotation =12Iω2

=12×ML23ω2

=12×ML23ω2

I=ML2/3 (because rod is rotating about an axis passing through its one end)

According to law of conservation of energy, decrease in potential energy will be equal to gain in kinetic energy.

MgL2(1-cosθ)=ML26ω2

ω=3gL(1-Cosθ)=6gLSinθ2
