Let the required unit vector be r=ai˙^+bj˙^

Then, r=1

 a2+b2=1  ...(i)

Since, r makes an angle of 45° with i˙^+j˙^ and an angle of 60° with 3i˙^-4j˙^, therefore

cosπ4=r(i˙^+j˙^)r|i˙^+j˙^|

and  cosπ3=r3i˙^-4j˙^r3i˙^-4j˙^

12=a+b2

and12=3a-4b5

a+b=1

and 3a-4b=52

a=1314,b=114

 r=1314i˙^+114j˙^
