The correct answer is: 6: 1

The length of wire is 20 m.

According to the question:

1+2=20

d2 d1=-1

Let the side of the square be x, then

4x=1

x=14   ...1

Let the radius of the circle be y, then

 2πy=2

y=22π   ...2

Hence,

A1=142 and A2=π22π2

Let S=2A1+3A2

S=(1)28+3(2)24π

dSd1=218+624π·d2 d1

For S to be minimum,

dsd1=0

218+624π·d2 d1=0

218-624π=0   d2 d1=-1

14=624π

π12=6
