According to Huygen's principle, during refraction of lightfrom air to a denser medium the wavelength of light and speed
decrease. Since
\( \lambda \) medium \( =\frac{\lambda_{0}}{\mu} \) \( \Rightarrow \lambda_{\text {medium }} \propto \frac{1}{\mu} \)
Therefore, for denser medium wavelength decreases. Also,speed of light is lesser in a medium than in vacuum.
