The seed is a small embryonic plant that is enclosed in a covering called the seed coat. Inside seed, an embryo develops. Those seeds that restore some part of the endosperm during embryonic development is called albuminous seeds. Example: maize, wheat, castor, barley etc. Whereas those seeds that consume the complete endosperm during embryonic development are called non-albuminous seeds. Examples are groundnut, peas, etc.
