It is a Williamson's ether synthesis reaction. It is a ${\mathrm{S}}_{\mathrm{N}}2$ reaction. Aryl halides will not undergo nucleophilic substitution reactions readily. Hence, allyl-phenyl ether can be prepared by reaction of allyl halide and phenoxide ion as follows
