The radius of the earth at poles is less than equator therefore as we go from the equator to the poles, the value of $\mathrm{g}$ increases.

Also as we go from the equator to the poles, the effect of rotation decreases and becomes zero at pole so the value of $\mathrm{g}$ increases.
