Sexual spores are called as ascospores which are produced endogenously in a sac-like structure called asci (singular: ascus). These asci are arranged in different types of fruiting bodies called ascocarps. Ascobolus, Saccharomyces, morels, truffles, Aspergillus, Claviceps and Penicillium belong to ascomycetes.
