Sulphur is not a constituent of chlorophyll but it helps in chlorophyll formation. Due to the deficiency of sulphur, chlorosis often appears first in the young leaves. Mineral constituent of chlorophyll is magnesium which is situated in the centre of the porphyrin ring.
