If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of assertion.
The time period of a oscillating spring is given by,
$T=2 \pi \sqrt{\frac{m}{k}}$ i.e. $T \propto \frac{1}{\sqrt{k}}$. Since the spring
constant is large for hard spring, therefore hard spring has a less periodic time as compared to soft spring.
