We know that the bond order is dependent on the bond length and bond energy.

Higher bond order indicates the strong bonding is present between the molecules (like sigma and pi bonding) and the strong bonding results in stronger intermolecular attractions which results in the smaller bond length and consequently amount of energy required for breaking the bonds would be higher, and therefore the Bond Energy B.E. is directly proportional to the bond order while the Bond Length B.L. is inversely proportional to the Bond Order B.O.
