Alcoholic drinks are produced by fermenting different types of cereals or fruits by Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The fermented broth produced by Brewer's yeast acting on malted cereals and fruit juices goes through processing in which distillation determines the type of drink. Brandy, whiskey, and rum are the alcoholic drinks that go through a distillation process. Wine and beer do not undergo the process of distillation.
