The structure of N2O is N=N=O
Δ f H (calculated) = Bond energy of reactant – Bond energy of product
=(NN)+12(O=O)-[(N=N)+(N=O)]
= 946+ 1 2 498 418+607 =170kJ
Resonance energy = experimental Δ f H N 2 O calculated Δ f H N 2 O
