According to the applications of electrochemical series on moving from top to bottom in electrochemical series, the values of $E_{\mathrm{oP}}^{\circ}$ of metals decrease, and thus reactivity of metals of $E_{\mathrm{op}}^{\circ}$ indicates greater reactivity of metal. On the other hand, $\mathrm{F}^{-}$is poor reductant while $\mathrm{Cu}^{2+}$ is strong oxidant.
The metals placed above Mg in ECS decompose water at ordinary temperature to liberate $\mathrm{H}_2$. Oxides of Hg decomposes on heating.
