Citrus canker is a disease of Citrus sp. caused by the bacterium Xanthomonas. It is basically a leaf spotting and fruit rind blemishing disease. Under highly favourable conditions, it causes defoliation, shoot dieback and fruit drop. It is highly contagious and spreads rapidly from a diseased plant to a healthy one.
