The reaction of aniline (aromatic amine) with nitrous acid results in the diazonium salt formation which is benzene diazonium chloride.When benzene diazonium chloride reacts with N, N - dimethyl aniline at ice cold condition gives p - dimethyl aminoazobenzene. It is an example of coupling reaction.
