Given,

a and b are two vectors such that a=2i^+2j^+pk^, b=7

Now given a·b=4

So, applying the formula we get,

a·b=4abcosθ=4

8+p2×7cosθ=4

cosθ=478+p2

sinθ=78+p22-4278+p2=49p2+37678+p2

Now also given a×b=517

absinθ=517

8+p2×7×49p2+37678+p2=517

49p2+376=517

49p2+376=25×17

49p2=49

p=±1
