The correct answer is: 28times the period of the planet's revolution

Assuming the new path of the planet as an elongated ellipse of semi major axis r2 and using kepler's law we get

T12T22=r3r23

T2=T18

But this is the total time to orbit the sun. To fall down it takes half the total time. So the required time is

t=12T18=T128
