Given:  fx=ax+b, if x1ax2+c, if 1<x2dx2+1x, if x2 is differentiable on R

So fx should be continuous on R

Now continuity at x=1

f1-=f1+=f1

a+b=a+cb=c  ...i

Now continuity at x=2

f2-=f2+=f2

4a+c=4d+12=8a+2c=4d+1 ...ii

Now 

f'x=a, if x12ax, if 1<x2dx2-1x2, if x2

It is differentiable on R

So f'1-=f'1+a=2aa=0  ...iii

f'2-=f'2+4a=4d-14d=14  ...iv

Using Equations ii, iii & iv

c=b=1

Now ad-bc=0-1=-1
