The correct answer is:
$\pm 5$
Distance between the points $(a, 0,1)$ and $(0,1,2)$. $=\sqrt{(a-0)^2+(0-1)^2+(1-2)^2}$
So, $\sqrt{27}=\sqrt{a^2+1+1}$
$\Rightarrow 27=a^2+2 \Rightarrow a^2=25$
Hence, $a=\pm 5$
