In a capacitor, energy is stored in the electric field between the plates.

Increase in energy

U=Uf-Ui

=12CVf2-12CVi2=12C(Vf2-Vi2)

Given, C=μF=6×10-6, Vi=10 V

Vf  =20 V

U=12×6×10-6[202-102]

=3×10-6×300=9×10-4 J
