The correct answer is:
$\Delta \mathrm{U}=-\Delta \mathrm{W}$, in a adiabatic process
From first law of thermodynamics
$$
\Delta Q=\Delta U+\Delta \mathrm{W}
$$
For adiabatic process $\Delta Q=0$
$$
\Rightarrow \quad \Delta U=-\Delta W
$$
$$
\Delta Q=\Delta U+\Delta \mathrm{W}
$$
For adiabatic process $\Delta Q=0$
$$
\Rightarrow \quad \Delta U=-\Delta W
$$
