Biotic components, or biotic factors, can be described as any living component that affects another organism or shapes the ecosystem. This includes both animals that consume other organisms within their ecosystem. Abiotic factors include all the nonliving things find in nature. They play an important part in the lives of all organisms. The combination of abiotic and biotic factors is different for two different ecosystems. Some examples of abiotic factors include wind, sunlight, soil, temperature, climate, and water.
