Number of immigrants > Number of emigrants
Natality and immigration contribute to an increase in population density, whereas mortality and emigration tend to decrease the size.
The density of a population (N) at time t can be expressed after a period of time (t + 1) as:
N(t+1) = Nt + [ (B + I) - (D + E) ]
where B denotes the number of births, I denotes the number of immigrants, D is the number of deaths and E is the number of emigrants.
If B = D, and N(t+1) > Nt, then I > E.
