The correct answer is: 1.0 g

According to the Freundlich's Adsorption Isotherm,

xm=k·p1/n

By taking the log both sides,

logxm=logk+1nlogp

So, slope =1ntan45°=1(n=1)

logK=0.3010k=2

xm=2(0.5)1n xm=1

Hence, the amount of gas adsorbed per gram of charcoal under a pressure of 0.5 atm is 1.0 g
