In light reaction, light energy is trapped by pigments and is converted into chemical energy through photophosphorylation, forming ATP and $\mathrm{N}\mathrm{A}\mathrm{D}\mathrm{P}\mathrm{H}+{\mathrm{H}}^{+}$ which is used in dark reaction to synthesizes glucose through the Calvin cycle, thus known as assimilatory power.
