Phaeophyceae or the brown algae inhabit the marine environment. These organisms show sexual as well as asexual means of reproduction wherein the sexual reproduction may be monogamous, isogamous, or anisogamous whereas the asexual reproduction takes place with the help of bi-flagellate zoospores that are pear-shaped and have two unequal flagella laterally attached to it.
