Options:
  • A higher concentration of \( S^{2} \)
  • B higher concentration of \( H^{+} \)

The correct answer is: lower concentration of \( S^{2-} \)
Dissociation of \( \mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{~S} \) is suppressed in presence of \( \mathrm{HCl} \) due to common ion effect. This decreases the \( \mathrm{S}^{2-} \) ion
concentration and hence, only Group II radicals having low solubility product are precipitated.
